POSITION 

Educational Program Account Manager

STATUS

Provisional

REQUIREMENTS

  • (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Master’s degree including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in business/accounting;

OR

  • (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in business/accounting AND one (1) year of paid general business/accounting, municipal auditing, or business management experience;

OR

  • (C) Completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited college oruniversity or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in business/accounting AND three (3) years of paid experience as described in (B) above (general business/accounting, municipal auditing, or business management).

NOTE: Certification as a Public Accountant by the State of New York may be substituted for
two (2) years of business experience.

  • This position will be filled according to Civil Service rules by a provisional appointment pending Civil Service Examination.

DUTIES

  • Manages the regulatory and legal compliance for all monetary aspects of special and unique education programs, initiating and monitoring compliance.
  • Performs management reviews and operational audits.
  • Plans and initiates business/accounting procedures and routines within a uniform system
    of accounts.
  • Prepares a variety of complex financial reports to the State and Federal government and
    the School Board.
  • Assists in the administration of the budget.
  • Maintains and monitors current revenues and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of the general ledger and journals.
  • Customary duties associated with the position
