Establish and enforce rigorous standards for scholar achievement that are in line with New York State and School District Policies, with specific attention and adherence to Policy 8110 (Curriculum Development, Resources and Evaluation).

Have strong instructional background in STEM and experience in closing gaps associated with historically underrepresented populations.

Ensure the academic program meets or exceeds yearly scholar outcome goals as defined by ECSDM and measured by the state of New York accountability requirements.

Maintain active involvement in the school improvement planning process with the Building Inquiry Team and the School Improvement Team by providing resources for decision-making and priority/goal setting.

Lead teachers and work collaboratively with Department Chair Leaders in developing a healthy/positive school culture aligned with the vision, mission and values of the school and school district.

Create a culture of academic excellence, teamwork and collaboration amongst the staff, teachers, scholars and families.

Foster a school climate that supports both scholar and staff success and promotes respect and appreciation for all scholars, staff and parents.

Work with teachers to improve their teaching practice and assure that all learning environments are providing rigorous and active instructional programming.

Remain abreast of current successful instructional methodologies and practices.

Provide high quality curricular training and resources to staff (i. e. professional development opportunities).

Assist in communicating the district’s vision that supports the school's goals and values.

Direct the oversight, coordination and assurance of the effectiveness of appropriate/assigned parent/community/professional advisory committees (i.e. National Academy Advisory Committees, Project Lead the Way Advisory Committee, etc.).

Assist in creating an effective team of parents, staff and community stakeholders who are committed to achieving excellence and are jointly responsible for the attainment of school and district goals.
