Principal Maple Hill Annex
REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate will be a highly qualified leader, who possesses the following:

-Demonstrated success in leading teams through productive and challenging work, setting a positive, supportive atmosphere, and leading with integrity.
-Demonstrated success in urban school settings and special education-based K-5 building;
-Excellent oral and written communication and conflict resolution skills.
Duties:
-Understand Protocols and Procedures connected to NYS Part 200 and IEP development.
-A leader who is a champion for moving scholars toward their best individual settings
-Ensure district special education staff are in compliance with IDEA
-Manage daily operations of buildings, including transportation, staffing, and the implementation of specialized curricula (i.e, STAR).
-In collaboration with the Director of Security, manage building safety with a focus on de-escalation and therapeutic crisis intervention.
-Maintain high standards of student conduct utilizing restorative practices and trauma-informed discipline, ensuring due process and the safety of all scholars.
-Oversees disciplinary process and record keeping: able to familiarize students, staff, and parents with the Code of Conduct.
-Administer all of the school policies, rules, and safety regulations.
-Help monitor the progress of students, and supervise the reports of such progress to parents. Interact with parent, student, and staff concerns in a sensitive, timely manner.
-Proactively cultivate strong school-community relationships by maintaining a high level of visibility and establishing regular, transparent communication loops with families to ensure they are engaged partners in their scholar’s education.
-Acts as a primary liaison and collaborative partner to the Office of Special Services and the leadership team at Maple Hill Elementary, ensuring seamless transitions for scholars, shared professional development, and the unified implementation of district-wide culture initiatives.
-All other duties related to the position as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
SALARY: Competitive salary and benefits package as per the Middletown School Administrator’s Association bargaining unit.
Twelve Month Position.
