Educational Program Account Manager

STATUS

REQUIREMENTS

  • (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Master’s degree including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in business/accounting;

OR

  • (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in business/accounting AND one (1) year of paid general business/accounting, municipal auditing, or business management experience;

OR

  • (C) Completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours at a regionally accredited college oruniversity or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in business/accounting AND three (3) years of paid experience as described in (B) above (general business/accounting, municipal auditing, or business management).

NOTE: Certification as a Public Accountant by the State of New York may be substituted for
two (2) years of business experience.

  • This position will be filled according to Civil Service rules by a provisional appointment pending Civil Service Examination.

DUTIES

  • Manages the regulatory and legal compliance for all monetary aspects of special and unique education programs, initiating and monitoring compliance.
  • Performs management reviews and operational audits.
  • Plans and initiates business/accounting procedures and routines within a uniform system
    of accounts.
  • Prepares a variety of complex financial reports to the State and Federal government and
    the School Board.
  • Assists in the administration of the budget.
  • Maintains and monitors current revenues and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of the general ledger and journals.
  • Customary duties associated with the position

Human Resources Specialist 1

STATUS

REQUIREMENTS

  • Either (a) a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Managent or closely related field; Or(b) satisfactory completion of 30 credits and two years related work experience in a business-related area. Or (c) At least (5) five years of experince working in a human resource department 
  • This position will be filled according to Civil Service rules by a provisional appointment pending Civil Service Examination.

DUTIES

  • May act as technical advisors to human resource program and assist in giving interpretations of negotiated labor agreements.
  • May interview and make recommendations on candidates for vacant positions, assists on on-boarding new employees and explaining various employee benefits, including NYS retirement and available health benefits.
  • Compiles reports and data as required.
  • Responds to inquires regarding human resource practices, procedures and services.
  • Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments.
