POSITION 

Plumber

STATUS

This position will be filled according to the Civil Service rules by a Probationary appointment. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of commercial plumbing experience as a plumber at the journeyman level; OR

Five years of commercial plumbing experience assisting a journeyman plumber;

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma

LOCATION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair leaks, clogged drains, broken pipes, and other plumbing issues

• Coordinates with contractors and vendors on plumbing related projects

• Ensures all work complies with  applicable plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and, district safety policies.

• Installs water service piping which includes wiping and testing joints

• Installs and repairs fixtures such as laboratory facilities, drinking fountains, and sprinkling systems.

• Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
• Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.
• Customary duties associated with the position

SALARY

Salary will be determined according to CSEA Bargaining Unit Agreement
